Lacko-Bartošová, Magdaléna, Since 1980 she has worked at the University of Agriculture (VŠP), later the Slovak University of Agriculture (SPU) in Nitra.
From 1995 to 1997 she was head of the Research Base of the Faculty of Agronomy (AF, today the Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Resources, FAPZ); from 1994 to 1997 vice-dean for educational activities and international relations of AF; from 2000 to 2003 dean of AF; from 2003 to 2006 dean of FAPZ; from 2006 to 2010 vice-rector of SPU; from 2014 to 2021 head of the Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Herbology, FAPZ; from 2012 to 2016 state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Bratislava; professor since 2001.
Her research focuses on fundamental and applied studies in the field of agricultural systems, sustainable and organic farming, soil tillage, non-chemical methods of controlling harmful agents, technological processes of cultivation and quality of non-traditional cereals, environmental impacts of agriculture, as well as the development and implementation of the EU’s common agricultural policy. She has been principal investigator of 17 national research projects, investigator in 3 national educational projects, more than 50 international and EU educational and scientific projects, and 5 projects within the Operational Programme Research and Development.
She is the author and co-author of 3 university textbooks, many teaching texts in Slovak and English, 16 scientific and professional monographs, and more than 250 scientific papers published in domestic and international renowned journals and proceedings.
She was a member of several Slovak and international professional societies, a member of editorial boards of several foreign journals, recipient of many national and international awards, and has served as a visiting professor at many universities in the USA, Canada, EU countries, and beyond.
