ÉTRETAT, 2016

In early summer 2016, during my preparations for  my solo shows “Kicking the Horizon” in Paris and “Lichtungen” in Brussels, I have done several excursions to Étretat in the Normandy. Étretat is quite famous for its scenery, but especially for its oustanding importance as inspiring location for a lot of ‘celebrity’ artists in the times of romanticism and impressionism, amongs others Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, Eugene Delacroix or Guy de Maupassant… I did several hikes during the periods of low tide, stalking under the famous cliffs of the coast and focussing my view on the topographic details of this ‘transient’ landscape.
